About 6 weeks ago, my cousin (Julie Barnes - All Occasions by JB) asked me if I would be interested in going to a function for an organization Wish Upon A Wedding. So being ME - I said sure sounds like fun.
Of course, once reading a bit about it; I decided I wanted to put my name on the "grant wisher" list. I know how much it costs just to have a photographer never mind all the rest of the details (since I am in the middle of planning my own wedding).
At the kick off event on Monday evening they played a video (inserted to the left) to introduce the organization to everyone. Have to admit, it made me a little bit teary eyed. It also put life into a better perspective for me these days. I know I am very busy with my "normal job" working at the VA, plus my photography and add on the wedding planning - BUT could you imagine trying to do all that AND being terminally ill? Well, WUW doesn't provide the money to have the weddings, they provide the resources (wedding planner, dj's, linens, photography and anything else pertaining to a wedding) for the couple to celebrate "their day". Even if you don't have "the skills" to provide assistance to this organization - you can volunteer and/or donate to the cause. Check out their website to see how you can help more. or follow them on FB
